Here's a 54mm original I finished recently, using a Hornet head, hands, and some Airfix boots, plus a converted Shenandoah rifle. It's a New Zealand Armed Constabulatory member during the wars in the 1860's. These guys wore loose shirts and their slouch hats in the bush instead of the traditional forage cap and wool shell jacket. Their wraps were a Maori-inspired item, another touch to their uniform that made their campaigns in the bush more comfortable. Hope y'all like it. Cheers, Stephen

You know what I'm going to say Stephen not enough Kiwi figures around, so good to see your project here.
You've done a nice job representing one of the front line troops involved.
The kilt, soft hat & shirt make this a unique project.

These guys would have become settlers post the war as they were effectively an armed militia & not regular British units.

    Thanks for sharing,

Great work Stephen, especially when I consider the scale, 54mm seems very difficult for me these days.
Well done, love the subject and indeed your rendition...cheers.

Hey gents, cheers, and thanks for all the very kind words. Glad y'all enjoyed this one. I may have to do another Kiwi subject soon as there is plenty of fascinating stuff in the new Osprey book. Thanks again.

Wonderful figure Stephen really original and unusual to us in the UK. Would like to see more like this but I agree with Mark and would like to see them bigger scale!

    Stephen,
Great figure, when I bought the book I thought that page had figures on that were crying out to be sculpted. I really like what you have done.

Stephen if you ever get the chance come over to the Queensland event called the QHME we are starting to get quite an international meet with John Andy and others all crossing the ditch - great weekend and just our groups table with over 100 figures with figure by Phil Walden and Alan Mackie Boots wellington and several other fantastic painters and that is not even those that in the actual completion.
