Well, I recon if you're going to scrath build it ya might as well go all the way and make it completely all your own. Mighty dang fine work on that MP-35 so far Kaz. This whole thing is shaping up very nicely and I'm enjoying the process.

    Cheers, Ski.

Kaz very good to see you make the decision to make your own weapon, I am not saying there was anything wrong with the figure having an mp40, its just that if you are considering going down the commercial road then you should make all your own items from day one, it is the only way you will build the necessary experience for the future.
Using commercial items as a starting of point for conversion is acceptable and used by many sculptors, so long as you make significant changes to the original so there is no infringement on copyrights.
Very good work so far, I will keep following.

Super work! I like very much the idea and also the dog. The pose of the figure is great. The only regret for me is that it is not a 54m figure as I don't like 1/16 ... but well, when I see this figure, I think I should also paint figure of this scale !

Thanks a lot everybody, sorry for not being able to say thanks to each of you right now, but I really appreciate all of your comments!

Here's the latest progress. As I decided to changes weapon and to break down parts, I re-sculpted both arms all over again. Now I'm adding and brushing up details...

It took time to create my own version of good-shaped M35 helmet, It was very very difficult. but I think I can proud of the result.

Kaz you could run with any one of these scenerios and it would work just fine. Maybe leave the option open for the builder with all three heads available, etc. Either way, they all look great to me. That is, if you plan to reproduce this duo for market.

    Cheers, Ski.

    Kaz,
Truly amazing work! It is fantastic and as long as everyone's tossing in their bits about the weapon..here's mine. Personally, I'd rather see and open holster and a Luger or P38 in his hand instead of any rifle...but to each their own. Keep up the fantastic work!

Hello Kaz, The helmet looks great, nice work on it. If this figure was commercially available, I would have a hard time deciding which head to use, all are fantastic, and each could tell different stories, in the way this set is displayed. Excellent work Kaz, all the details really stand out. Looking forward to seeing this painted up. Congrats and Regards, SG:happy:

I agree on the pistol. Although the rifle you sculpted looks great, a Luger would perhaps be a more suitable option for the figure.

Thanks a lot for your comments, guys!
Ski, Yes since I'm working to make it commercial, I want it with 3 optional heads. As a consumer whenever I buy products I want re-usable option.

Steve and Mario, I understood your opinion, and you are right, officer and pistol always fit perfect. I don't want to ruin my first idea (and my MP35 too), though , which is very important to me. But it doesn't mean force my idea to people when it is commercially available, of course I don't care people use it as a conversion base, change arms, equipments, and guns. I leave users space to make it easier to create their original version by separating arms, hands, equipment, and dog.

SG, I cannot choose one too, thats why I built 3 heads. :singing: and thanks for the comment on details. It still needs brush up a bit, and I'm going to add iron cross and police units badges on left chest and arm.

Sokol, thanks for doberman info, but I cannot read German I couldn't get what " Schutzhunds from III to X" mean.
and... I'm glad you like Bergmann. "Bergmann and Doberman", you know.

That's the way to go Kazufumi ! It's definitely a winner - How the helmeted version completely changes the attitude and places the figure in a complete new environment!

This weapons choice is always a tough game: what makes sense to some may be different to others. The array of choices minimizes this factor, and pleases the most: From hunting weapons, to urban warfare, to open field settings - there's an incredibly vast array to contextualize.

Go straight ahead! Respect the most your own believes and, sincerely, put this marvel out as soon as possible! For me, this duo is one of the finest creations of the past years - superbly well achieved! :hilarious:

123_013.JPG Hello Kaz, Great idea to portray this figure, and dog, as belonging to a police unit. Will this be the Feldgendarmerie? Are you planning to use a gorget around his neck? DSCI0111.JPG Looking forward to seeing the awards and police patches on the officer. Regards, SG:happy:

Thanks CAT of BORDO, what a honor to being compared with these 3 brands I always admire! Glad you want a copy.

Blue thunder, it's great honor to hear that, I want make it ship as soon as possible too. :)

SG, thanks a lot for the great pics. I didn't think about police unit at the beginning, so I didn't have plan to use a gorget, but I'm now working on more general-purpose item, binocular, which I wanted for this figure from the beginning.

    Here's the current status.
    IMG_0390.jpg IMG_0388.jpg

Do you know which class in Feldgendarmerie use a gorget? I don't see the officer class using it much.
