Kaz! ... I completely agree with Roger! (ish).. ear cropping,( Started around 1900) and would have been down to the individual breeder! possibly then, but more so, now! .. so one breeder may supply a dog with cropped ears, and another would not! there are three types of crop! Military/Pet, Medium, and Show! ! .. e.g. I think yours are well in scale and applicable!

Kaz, you're coming full circle buddy and your efforts are incredible. Like I said, "an incredible intesnity in art" is how I'd describe it. I too have never ventured into this realm, but when I retire I plan to make a go of it, work has a habit of getting in the way of this Sport for me. Great work Kaz!

Whatever you decide Kaz it will still be a great sculpt. The ears were just something that I noticed and not a slur on your sculpting abilities. Looking forward to seeing further progress.

Hi Kaz,
Personally I think you have the figures spot on in relation to your reference and vision. You can tell you have put the work into the pose and position of both figure and dog. I like the raised ears on the dog gives him that daunting look just like his owner. Some really nice drapery too. Some photo's from the left hand side and rear would be nice.

before reshaping Doberman, I'm reworking on jacket and pockets, and decided to build my own version of officer cap, instead of using Tamiya parts.

Hello Kaz, I like the new cap, it looks more natural and not as stiff as the Tamiya version. Also a few photos of German soldiers with dobermans. Regards, SG These are message dogs, the message canister can be seen around the neck of the dog in the first photo, and to the soldiers right in the second.

I didn't know that 120mm USMC figure, so I checked out the Michael Roberts website just now. I see you converted head and left shoulder and arm in right position.
I want to do USMC w/ dogs in the future project too!

That looks nice too, I found out it is sculpted by Alan Ball, I'm a big fan of his indian works. (I have his "Sign of the time" 54mm vignette kit)
