This piece is shaping up very well... looks great! The face is spot on and I really dig your work on the fabrics... particularly the red of the tunic.
If I could add my own two cents worth, it would be to make sure the metal of the armour and helmet are kept somewhat on the dull side as I believe the tropical jungle climate would play havoc on any exposed metal. There certainly wouldn't be a parade ground sheen.

Following closly... Always enjoyed the work you've produced

Thanks guys. Colin, thanks for your comment about the armour - it's only really the top of the helmet and the top part of the armour which has a sheen - the rest has dark washes which reduces that somewhat.

Hi Edward, the crest on the leather bag on his back provides an opportunity to get some extra level of detail into this figure. For example, you could put the crest of the Spanish King Phillip II, or possibly one of the noble houses of the court of Spain. I'm keen to see what you do with it. I like what you've done so far.

Thanks Tony, that's an interesting suggestion but I've already painted the bag and am going to keep it as plain leather with an engraved crest. Don't suppose you or anyone knows of possible shield designs? The instructions say white with a red border but I was wondering if there are other options.

Beautiful finish Edward. Now I see the patina on the metals more clearly (as we discussed earlier on in the thread)
Really good looking, simple yet effective piece... Well done

I've been tempted to pick this one up along with a fistful of those laser cut paper jungle plants from Fredericus Rex.

Great job on this one Edward.

Dear Ed, very nice, as I expected.

I think the decision to keep the groundwork v simple has paid off, as it's allowed this lovely classic figure to shine through.
    Nice one.

Thanks mate, I was going to add more jungle plants but decided to keep it simple in the end.
