i just finished my elite unit of the Soissonois grenadiers, it was a painstaking process but is finally done.
I have primed the figures with Army painter color / primer Skeleton Bone.
I dipped the figures on the Quickshade strong shade.
As for the coat i have used pale sand stright form the bottle for the first light, 2nd light used stright ivory.
for the pants and vest i paint a basecoat of vallego game color grey shadow, added light by using stone grey straight from the bottle and for last lights pure white.
For the gaiters i use a basecoat of Citadel Fenris grey , added Vallejo Panzer aces german winter camo white and for the shadows added german grey to the base color.
As for the Crimson, i experimented various mixes , but the one i mainly used is a dab of Windsor & Newton's artist's acrylic Alizarin Crimson and added vallejo magenta, for the lights added citadel emperor's children pink, shadows added black to the base color.
I am happy with the overall result, and pictures here are seen in a base that is not the final base for this regiment, just for picture purposes.
    Cheers

Nicely done! The switch to 40mm has resulted in a lot of completed work in a relatively short amount of time. You're to be commended, Daniel, for the care and effort you put into these miniatures. The quality shows!

Thanks Keith!, it's really hard to determine the final number yet, this Soissonios will have around 30 troppers including 2 standard bearers and officers, drummers , i am planning to have at least another 2 full regiments like soissonois, that will be the german in French service Royal Deux-ponts with their sky blue coats and lemon yellow facings and the Gatinois regiment as well, the rest of the regiment will have a small detachments of troops and i am going to incorporate the royal artillery with 2 or 3 batteries, so it's a long long process but i am very excited about it.
Thanks for passing by my friend

I made a little bit more progress on the grenadier's drummer.
Still a lot of details to be painted and little re-touchs here and there.

thanks Keith, honestly , painting the lace is a pain, especially on this scale and i don't want to imagine a 28mm :dead:

Gracias Eduardo, the drummer and grenadiers are part of the batallion that will be at Yorktown, i will "dirt" the uniforms a little one i glue them on the battlefield base, that way i hvae a better blend between terrain/ dirty uniforms in my opinion.
Thanks for passing by my friend .

this image gives a good idea of the French troops at Yorktown.
what i am trying to portray with my diorama is the early stages or previous stages if i may say of the French troops getting situated, getting ready and others marching into their final battle positions , this way i could have many of the participant regiments a little close to each other obviously for lack of space, that way it looks normal that the regiments are closer in distance while they figure which regiment will go where.

Great work Daniel. After following your threads I'm looking forward to visiting Williamsburg and Yorktown for the first time later this month.
