Now I start a new project on this plate of a French zouave of the war franco Prussian. I have done the ground with plaster and feroca. The figure is an original modelled by Antonio Messeguer, modeling is certainly extraordinary.

Love the figure, love the setting, love the historic period, really love Zouaves, the whole project is a winner. Is there any chance this would be offered commercially as I would also love to get my hands on a copy of this figure.

Great to see more figurers from the Franco Prussian War. we have two more coming out soon in our franco prussion war range. but it's a shame this is not one of them. Keep up the great work it's a credit to you.

Great figure and composition, and very interesting theme, but on the picture it is not a zouave, it's a tirailleur algerien.

Dmitri, It is indeed an tirailleur argeline, This units, "les turcos" belonged to the zouaves of the ligne et de la Garde who had three regiments, differentiated by the colour of the Turban red (Argel) or white (Oran).

Lovely colours and work! .. I am slightly surprised that the face has been left until later ?? I cant imagine how you would paint this, without having to handle the figure ! you must have a steady hand! .. Much more than I could manage! .. Great work though !
