This guy is just about done. Needs some tweaks to his ammo pouch, Airborne insignia and general tidying up. Just waiting on a replacement barrel for the 30 cal and I'll finish his left arm and hand which is just blu-tacked on.
I'm moving on to a new project at the moment so thought I'd just show him now.

Really enjoyed doing him and tried a few new things including acrylic shading over an oil wash (Yes Ron, acrylics over oilss mate...lol) to try and put some multi tones onto the large areas that 200mm scale shows.

Contrast between leather and cloth are superb. These larger figures can so easily be overdone - this however - spot on. Brilliant work!

Really cant fault it like the others liking the finish on the boots and nice colour contrasts as big figures can look abit like dragon figure dolls without proper handling ie airbrushed, im working on an alpine us para and I know how difficult it is with the limited pallet of colours a u.s uniform offers to get away from a monochrome apperance, great skills.mick

I have the 120mm figure as well and to be honest there's nothing between them except the smaller one has more equipment. But they both look good.

The boots are:
Iraqi sand acrylic base then liberally apply burnt sienna oil paint and then wipe it off.
Dry brush orange brown then german camo beige.
Vallejo sepia ink diluted with water wash quite a few times.
Then wash with diluted Vallejo woodgrain.
Straight Vallejo black Ink pinwashed in the seams and shadows.
