    Hi pF,

Could not resist the latest bust by Young and it seems i will be in North Africa for a wee longer :)

Seems like the bust if based off a photo of Major Wilfred Thesiger ? Do correct me if i am mistaken i like to read up on the subject i am painting :)

    Anyway, here's after 1 evening's work.

    Looks a good start.
It's either Thesiger or Edward MacDonald.

Lovely start, Benjamin. And it is indeed another great bust from Young.
I look forward to seeing your completed version. If it's anything like your DAK infantryman it'll be great.

Hope you don't mind, but the way it's looks at this early stage immediately reminded me of this~

    Sorry couldn't resist that one.....cheers.

Going to call the face done for now. Just wondering if i went overboard with giving him a tan.

Excellent face painting. I think the skin tone is spot on - red, but not too red IMHO.

One last effect you might want to add to the face is to show the outline of the goggles on the face by adding some dirt and grime to the skin.

Laid the basecoat for the tunic, drew some lines in and 1st pass of shadows. Glazed some green onto the face to lower the intensity of the red for now :)
