My last update explained the undercoat for the overcoat which was GW orkhide shade which is a dark green colour, the reason i went for a green coat was because during the lighting phase on the figures right side i found it easier to go in with the yellow lights as green to yellow is not that harsh a transition, the collar and the cuffs i undercoated in GW black, these would then be finished with oil colours - Burnt Umber / Yellow Ochre / White,i did'nt want the coat to be all one colour as i wanted to give it something different, the final applications of oils for the coat consisted of oils in Prussian Green / Yellow Ochre / Burnt Umber / White mixes, final weathering arround the coat bottom consisted of Yellow Ochre / White applied to give that dirty / worn look,as i said earlier the figures left side would be natural compared to the right side which would have more yellow content due to the light source, this was achieved by applying small aplications of windsor yellow and white oil mixes until the desired effect was achieved, this yellow mixture was also applied very sparingly to the figures face on the right side, top of the hat and scarve, the cane / club stick / small part of the waistcoat / small part of the trousers / part of the stockings and boots, the cobbled street section was also given this wher the light i felt would fall.
The trousers i opted to do pin-stripes,this was always my plan as i did'nt fancy the one colour look, the base colour was GW Eshin grey, oils were applied and highlights and shades added with Burnt Umber / Charcoal Grey / white mixes, once these had been achieved i added the pin stipes in GW acrylic black,i highlighted all areas were the highlight had been lost again and did the same with the shadow areas with oil colour - sepia, this is a semi transparent paint so i added this to the shaded area but the pin-stipes would still be barely visable.
The stockings were base coated with Humbrol acrylic off white, applications of oil colours followed using mixes of charcoal grey and white and umber,i added a little bit of staining to these with burnt umber oil paint to replicate the dirt.
Boots Were undercoated with GW vermin brown, applications again followed using Umber and ochre colours until the desired effect was achieved, the boot laces i painted in using the off white paint.
The dog was finshed in oil mixes of white / umber / black /ochre colours,i added a couple of scars which i copied from the film 'Oliver' in which oliver reeds dog has the face and body scars.
I would like to think i have achieved what i set out to complete,i will be interested in your coments on the artificial light as i'm not sure if its going to be evident from the photo,s,when looking at the piece on my workbench it does have the effect i was looking for, even the wife said it looked lighter on one side.
Many thanks for following me through this subject and for all your previous kind coments,i hope you like the final result and i look forward to my next victorian piece (Jack the Ripper)

Amazing amount of thinking and work to turn out this little masterpiece of creepy lighting and Victorian dismalness (is that a word?). Pure Dickens! Congrats!

Stunning Brian, simply stunning. A feast for my eyes. Apart from Bill and Bullseye which are super, the alleyway is a work of art and easily drags you back to a much older and seedier London.
Love it mate, best I have seen.

Brilliant work Brian, I don't think I've see one of these that looked the same and wasn't excellent and this is no exception. I still don't like the sculpt of the dog but that's not the artists or even the sculptors fault really just my view on it.
