    Hi Mike
What can i say it is outstanding in every department, you have captured the eyes of so many infantry soldiers that i have seen in black and white pics, that 1000 yard stare the weathering is superb not overdone, textures blend, just going to get a drink of Jack D and sit and look at it , Thanks for sharing

Hey Taff go easy on the JD's mate will make your hands shake :)
Especially appreciate your reference to the real men & women we try to pay homage to in our small art form.
Exactly the sentiments I agree with.

It's morning here so off to work in a minute so drinking for me for awhile.

    Stay safe & thanks,

    Mike

Good to hear your comments Mark.
Don't break brushes just bread ;-) then move in to next project.
We're all just practicing what we enjoy.

    Thanks,

Thank you for noting that work Stefan, probably took most of my time painting these effects & learnt during it that you have to "represent" the material structure not replicate it. An old lesson Shep Paine wrote about which I've only now become to understand.

    Stay safe,

Yeah ,should be around then, but I might be embarrassed to show you my figures after your last few projects. I thought you would time your trip to the U K with Euro ? Are you going to continue with the modern stuff or get back to the Romans ?

Great work mike, love these pics, one thing if I may, I think the helmet scrim still needs a minute amount of colour ie: fading , grim etc. I think you know what I mean otherwise fantastic, bloody fantastic!!

Hiya Rod thanks for follow up & neat to meet at Karapiro. This year's Armistice Day is shaping up to be another good un. Ref comparisons with Goldie - mate that is over the top too kind! Don't feel I'm any where near that league but we keep trying.

    Stay safe

Always good to get some constructive criticism Les.
Will let you see in flesh as scrim does wash out in photos, can easily add more colouring to this afterwards if still appropriate.

    Thanks for support mate.

Hoping to get back to Romans & Medieval era later in year but have a queue of modern & fantasy subject I want/ need to do to stretch my style & skills.

    Stay safe,
