A real lesson in painting faces and fabrics - unfortunately the model for the sculptor must have been someone like the celebrity below:D

Hello Jaume, Fantastic painting as always. One question; Is this the boxart for the Fahrenheit Miniature Project, or is this figure your own rendering? I see that you have made alterations to the sidecap, which look better than the original sculpt. I'm kind of 50/50 if I like this figure or not. I'm not to crazy about the bald head, which might be why some feel his face is baby looking. Of course, you could always sculpt some hair, or use a different head altogether. Perhaps this figure kit would have benefited in having another head choice. There are some other issues with this figure, but with your painting style, it will be a great looking Fallschirjager. Regards, SG(y)

    Hi folks.
I really understand your feelings about the figure proportions. It's not a "usual german" but I really like it for that.
SG. This paintjob will appear as box-art(I hope so).The sidecap and chest eagles are sculpted but I preferred to scrap them off and paint them in my style as I do always with those details
Some more work done on the jump smock...

Jaume, your painting is top notch (as usual). The figure as such I don't really like although it looks much better painted than plain. In particular the head lost some of its "childish" appearance.

Quote from Bill Horan`s Military Modelling Masterclass : " While there are many excellent figures available on the market , there are even more with diproportionate limbs and hands, squat legs, eyes impossibly close together, mismatched castings, out-of-scale accoutrements, and an assortement of other woeful handicaps that no amount of painting artistry can mask. It is a sad fact, that even the most brilliant painting of a bad figure can ultimately result in nothing better than a brilliantly-painted bad figure."
It came to my mind while I look at this sculpt. It is not that all Germans (or put any nation you like) have to be smart heroic looking guys but the anatomy (here size of head and hands) should be presented within believable / realistic limits. Paratroopers btw were selected according to extreme medical standards at the early stages of WW 2....
Enough said - I tip my hat to your painting skills, Jaume!
    All the best,
    Martin
