    Hello lads,

    Hi Steve,
I have seen this before, it looks very nice, but at that price I reckon I could easily save £300 doing it my way. Anyway that's what I tell missus.:smug: Oh yes and look how many more I could buy with the difference! Then after that exchange of words I pick myself up of the floor........... and get on with it.

    Hi Dave,
Not much to report but since you've cracked the rod over me  I've managed to do a bit, mainly blocking in more colours and putting a bit of ground work down to give me a focus and yes I've been on the drive.:) and for the foliage I've even been in Reedees garage.
    cheers
    Richie

    Hi All,
After cleaning off 7 months worth of dust I have decided to crack on with this one. I think Colin's (ChaosCossack) psychic powers and Keith's (wings5797) continued prompting and encouragement especially, is a big part in me picking this one up again.
Not too much progress just a few hours putting the rough groundwork down......onwards and upwards tomorrow.
    cheers
    Richie

    Hi Steve,
I will give it a good go, but with the majority of the work on the horse and all the tack to make it might be pushing it, I still might bring it though.

    Hi Ron,
The grass is natural horse and hog hair as used in upholstery, it does make really effect grass and can be coloured quite easily. I am sure I put the link on my Fighting Bill project. I got a carrier bag full for about a fiver.
    cheers

Man, this looks awesome... I'd been waiting to see where you were at with this one for some time. Great scene, love the groundwork... what materials do you use for the horse tack?

    Hi Colin,
The horse tack will probably be made from foil and wire, the halter will either be made from a jewellery chain or string to simulate a rope. The rest of the rider's accoutrements will be from stock parts or made with milliput, the carbine boot was made with a paper post it note. I always find it's a mess on doing the tack, not my favourite part of the job.:sour:
    cheers
    Richie

    Hi Carl,
Thanks for looking in, this one has had too much of me not to continue, you'll know what it's like you start something and only pick it back up when you are in the mood or the time is right.
    cheers
