That turned out quite nicely, eyes are a bit close together but well within the variation possible IRL. You may want not quite that much emphasis on the sternomastoids, on a female subject in particular as they're generally more gracile.

From the heads you've shown in this thread there are a few things I think you might benefit from paying attention to now, early on.

#1 is eyes in general, might be a good idea to practice just eyes for a while. Or do smaller projects where you'd do more eyes in a shorter timeframe maybe?

#2 is the angle (and shape) of the clavicles.

#3 check your references more closely re. the throat area in between the sternomastoids, just looking at a profile should be enough to highlight the issue.

Thank You very much Enion, I apreciate it ;)
Generally speaking, atractive female should have a bit more distance between the eyes:

    http://todayilearned.co.uk/2010/11/14/characteristics-of-beautiful-faces/

Interestly enough, I carefully read that list before sculpting this face, and did not figure it out ;)
So this I'll fix for sure.
I did not want just to add border around the eyeballs, but traying to develop understanding of the eye anatomy - It's probably too much for me at the moment, but I hope with more practice it will "sit in place". I'll try to fix other things too.

    P.S.
This is result of just pushing the eyeballs a bit more outwards (need a bit more work as the pushing balls slightly deformed eyelids), so definitelly I see what You mean:

Do not want to spend much time on the clothes as heads are in focus ;)

I'll add hair to this one and call it finished.

This is general idea about the hair, but need more adjustment specially around the ears...

    Hello,

now with the hair I see the main problem. Please watch your monitor and cover the lower part of the head with your palm (under the nose), you will see a beautiful lady. And what can you see with the full picture?
A lady with rough lines. I checked the other heads too. Most of them has to big mandible, or the whole lower part is to big.
Another problem by your ladies (because I casted Darkos another ATA member) the lips. The lower lip don't have direct connection with the uper. Watch the form:

The hairdo would be better if it would be higher on this bust. And you should practice an other technic to do hairs, because this is not so naturaly, mutch more unlifely.
Maybe this technics (not an easy job, I know):

I can try to fix it, but honestly I think it would be better to start a new one ;)

This woman is good in this form. A new caracter will have finer lines, more feminine.

Hmm, the task was "one head every week", but it shold be interesting to take a slight turn now: I'll do the same subject all over again and try to make it better than this one. It might be also a good practice ;)
As a first thing, will try not to make a too big mandible - I did measure it and it is true - the lover part of the face is 2 mm too long. On 27 mm of overall height, this is really noticable. Think that many other errors were connected to this big one.

Also want to thank everyone who was offering crits and opinions...I think I learned something ;)

True, but not an excuse for pathological deformity in my opinion. If your eye keeps being dragged to it - then it needs correction.

Darko - I tried the metal ball approach time and time again and could never get a natural looking eye. At present I make eyeball from clay - and then place eyelids on top
What I noticed in last 3 busts is that L eye protrudes more to the front - all I can suggest - when you place balls in sockets, look from as many angles as poss to make sure they are in same plane - look upwards from the chin, downwards from forehead and mirror also helps.

I'm getting the same conclusion, steel balls are nice as they are both same size and with smooth surface, but it is really painfull to place them correctly - and once You do and make eyelids on top - it is very hard to fix their position.
I have one more female started with steel ball eyes, but after that I'll try the "clay" aproach.
