I have to agree with Johan here, it does look a tad stiff especially across the shoulders, the right shoulder looks somewhat wooden. Really nice paint job.

I dont understand the stiff critique of the piece....i dont know how else your shoulders are supposed to be when carrying a claymore and a flag...but hey ho there is always somebody the does. Maybe I'll get moz to sculpt smokin a spliff whilst listening to bob marley, maybe this would resolve the problem.

Stuart Its a stunning figure, well done for producing such a nice piece.
Like me, you may have forgotten just how laid back a chap would be after fighting all day in high temperature, especially if your ensign has been killed and you take the standard while still using your claymore. Bound to be relaxed and laid back and not a bit stiff because you are knackered from a hard days fighting.
Have spent many days working in rather hot places, without a standard and claymore admittedly, but still rather knackered at the end of the day.

You may just be right

Funny - new releases by Andrea and Pegaso are very regularly critisized on this forum, and almost nobody ever takes umbrage at that.

But critisize a new sculpt by any British sculptor, or even a West-Midlands sculptor, and people start to express their displeasure in nautical terms.

Well I seriously think that this is a great subject for a figure, but on a purely personal basis I don't like it, I've seen better sculpts, and I'm entitled to my own opinion I think. What's the big deal ?

Very nice figure and the paintwork is stunning.
For consideration purposes I attach the painting that was most probably used as an inspiration. I admit that I like the pose in the painting slightly better but the figure is still very nice

Johan I do respect your opinion, very much as it happens. I ask that you cast your mind back to the Andrea but "After the Battle"
One guy wrote very poor report on what he received in the post. Next thing Andrea are all the baddies and the sculpting was awful, strangely it wasnt the sculpt that was at fault it was the casters.
Strangely its a figure always thrown up when people want to critisize.
