    Hi Guys,

Here is my first post of 2013. It's a 54MM Demi-round by Metal Models from approximately 1996 sculpted by Eisenbach.

The figure is painted in Acrylics and the Horse is Oils over Acrylics.

    All Comments welcome.

Mike, nicely done, especially the horse. Those are excellent figures - I've never understood why they are not seen more often at shows, at least here in the US Northeast. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Sir! I'm glad you like it. It will be in Atlanta.

    Thank you sir!
Thanks Michael, glad you like it. hope to see you in Atlanta.

Hey Scott, The figure was relatively easy. The horse on the other hand was a bitch. I can't tell you how many times I stripped and painted the horse. I'm still not completely happy with the results. My oils skill leave a lot to be desired. Makes me appreciate what the oil painters do.

    Hi Mike,

I've never tried a demi-round but it looks quite challenging. Great work so far but I think you could do with some deeper shading under the back of the rider's leg and knee to enhance the 3D effect.

Hi Mike, very nicely done. I think these are overlooked by many painters but display beautifully and don't have the preparation work needed on a round figure. I was lucky enough to pick up a set of these (16 I think) from someone in Germany who was selling them off at a 50% discount. Having completed this one I'm sure you will be tempted to do more.(y)

    Hi Tony,

That is good advice. I will hit the pants again tonight and see what happens. This was my first "Flat/Demi Round." Still a lot of work left to perfect that effect.

Thanks Keith! Which ones do you have that you want to part with?

Thanks Marc. I appreaciate the comment.

Thanks Mr. Deyo! Hope to see you at the Dallas Show.
Thanks Mr. Green! I appreciate the comment. I have to agree with you that Oils do look better than Acrlics for Horses. I'm ready for Atlanta. I'll be in on Friday morning.
