I finished the gunner figure itself more than 2 months ago, but have been working on the background since. US Navy gunner ca. 1900 - 1920 with a five inch gun. Meant to be kind of a wedgie or a relief and loosely based on the photo shown in the attachments.

1/16th scale - mostly MagicSculpt. A few parts from the local hardware. Head from ReeDees, boots and hands from Verlinden.

    Hope you like it!

    All the best,
    Dan

Shame this isn't going to be a commercial piece, it is very well done.

Thank you Mike, Matthew, Carl, Don, Osebor, Richie, Keith and Ken! Sincerely!!

Looking at it now, I'm wondering if the wall to which the gun barrel is facing is really needed. Not sure if it adds anything and I may have overdone that bit.

A bit of honesty about the 5 inch gun. I could not find a good quality scale drawing and had to make do with multiple photos. Unfortunately the photos did not really give all the info needed. A bit of artistic license was taken.

    Looking for a painter. Volunteers?

    All the best,
    Dan

That's really a sweet bit of kit Dan I like the wall it "frames" the work I don't think you'll be short of volunteers I only wish I could paint it to the standard it deserves I'd do it in a shot mate (y)

    Cheers Steve!

But you'd be surprised about the painters, Steve. No volunteers so far. And I would like to see this one painted for certain.

    All the best,
    Dan
