    Hey All

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!
I guess I can finally call my first attempt at sculpting as complete as it's gonna get. This was alot of fun to do and has openned up a whole new part of this hobby to me. I know it's far from perfect and there are a lot of obvious mistakes... they've all be noted and hopefully I can correct them on my next attempt.

Anyway, here it is... My favorite bass player/singer from one of my top 5 fav bands... The Most Honourable Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead... The Loudest, Ugliest Band Ever!!!!

The sculpt is 75mm done in Apoxie Putty with a Maurice Corry head. The Rickenbacker bass was made from lamenated polystyrene sheets cut and shaped. The bass strings are actual high E guitar string cut-offs. The base is homemade from oak and rattle-canned Krylon Black. I'm still trying to come up with some kind of badge for the base, something that says "Motorhead". I was thinking of carving a spade logo on rolled out putty... Still in the works.

Still can't seem to dial in the whole photography thing(tried numerous settings and lighting situations):blackeye::depressed: ... but here they are, Enjoy!

    Colin

Great! I've been watching your WIP threads and it was just fantastic to see something so different from our usual military stuff. Real inspiring!

I think you captured the movement really well and the hair flow is superb. I do hope you will continue in this theme... Angus from AC/DC would make an interesting subject, eh?

Hey! Nice work! This has been really fun to follow from start to finish, and I have to say, I think you got the hang of this sculpting thing better than I did. That little punk is still sitting 70% done on the shelf!

    What's next?

Isn't it amazing making something outta nothing? And isn't it great knowing that you can paint any figure in any scale. even if no one makes it? That sums up sculpting and you clearly have the talent given this is your first. Its already great! But watch out, there are folks on this site who will be saying that Rock corrupts you and your next figure should be of Pat Boone.

Looking forward to seeing him in real life sometime...perhaps Guelph.

Thanx to everyone for all the help and support with this project right from the start. Without that I probably would have gotten discouraged and never finished and that would have been the beginning and the end of my sculpting experiment. I felt pretty good about the whole thing though I know I have a LONG LONG WAY TO GO before I come even close to being competent at this thing. The weaknesses and mistakes are identified and at least I know what to work on for my next attempts.
You're right Colin, Rock does corrupt, so no more rockers.... Next time it's pure Hardcore Metal!!! I'll say no more about that:sneaky:. Isn't there something in Hamilton before Guelph?

    Thanx again All

Come on Alex get on it brother!!! That piece was well on its' way, don't let it stagnate.
As for what's next, I have lots to paint and on the sculpting side of things... check the thread "Start of something big" to see the hole I've dug myself.
