Hello planeteers, i was thinking of making a little vignette portraying a scene of the swiss guards in the days previous to the practically the end of this famous bodyguard regiment.
the figure's torso is from Modeles et Allures, head form JMD , hat is a scratchbuild ,he white lace you see on his uniform is from historex.
    A little bit of history:
The Swiss guards was the most famous Royal boduguard in Europe , since the first employment of Swiss mercenaries by Louis IX in 1481.
They passed into history on 10 August 1792 at the Tuileries when, deserted by the King's republican bodyguard, they stood alone to face the Parisian mob.
They repelled the crowd with ease until the King, in a misguided attempt to prevent further bloodshed. ordered them to cease fire , where upon they were overrun and massacred, about 600 of the 900 on duty falling at their posts and a further 200 dying of wounds in prison.
Their bodies wore burned and quartered by the angry mob.
Here's my little tribute to the brave Swiss.
    cheers

I like this conversion very much, Daniel , good work. I see no coincidence between the laces of the plates and the ones you made. Are you sure about this point?
I´ve seen the swiss guards with laces like yours but with a hanging tassel.

Hi Eduardo , thanks for the images,i have the same plates for Eugene L. and the same image of the uniform on the right side.
That is the regiment i am trying to paint .
I have use these lace that belongs to the French guards with the intention of modifying them with greenstuff and make the shape of the "duck foot" , the one with the tassels hanging i believe is the grand uniform and i know is going to be easier to make the tassels hanging but i like the other type of lace which i believe is for everyday use and less "formal" per sei than the duck foot.I should have clarify that form the beginning since the illustrations i've posted don't match the lace on the trooper.
Best regards and gracias por la ayuda en el post.
Let me know if you have any suggestion for the little scene.

After few hours of trying to do the lace with the historex and greenstuff i got frustrated and decided to go from scratch.
It took a great deal of time and my eyes wore kinda red after a while, but i am happy with the resylt, not bad for being the first try.

    Looks great to me.
One comment. The three laces in the middle on the right side of the figure are out of line.
