Just about finished this great value bust from Young Miniatures although getting on a bit still a great one for any collection.

Tried a change of mediums but didn't really work for me ,after a showing at the one of the local tribe gatherings and met with a stoney silence :( I returned home and gave it an acid bath which resulted in what could only be called an unholy bloody mess , or as they say south of the Roman wall in Ayrshire
thats a moga not sure of that spelling as they do have some strange ways " Bah:eek:
So after a close call with the rubbish bin this is the result.

Sprayed with Tamiya xf24 dark grey ,dusted over withxf55 deck tan then overlayed in washes of paynes grey oils ,tunic in Titanium white oils shaded with Paynes grey and sepia cross in Cad red ,sepia shading and cad orange high lights, leathers in are sepia over Tamiya XF78 wooden deck tan
ala Kagamusha RC technique,Face in oils as usual .mail is oily steel Vallejo with oil washes of sepia and black.
Concluding if it was a football match then it turned out a lucky draw :D

Ron, your painting is just brilliant. Nicest rendition I've seen of this figure.

That is superb Ron much better than the last time. Bet you are glad you listened to those strange folk from Ayrshire (must have been Brian).
One of your best I think and what a wonderful base you found for him. Must be proud going to the crusade with such a base.

I think you're being a bit too modest Ron. It's a superb rendition of a very popular bust and clearly deserved to be saved from the bin.

    Thanx Tony
It was originally painted in Acrylics over G/W chaos black ,I wasn't happy with the outcome as I am an oil painter and my acrylic technique is somewhat shall we say duff budgies  so i striped it back and was left with a god awful black gunge, thats when it nearly hit the bin:eek: so I suppose it is a mini miracle of a recovery. the only part that survived the acid bath was the face which had been done in oils and the design of the bust allowed that part to be separated so it was off with the head off with the turban and out with the face.
