    OK
Finished the sculpting part of this project as best I could. Once primed I could really see some of the rougher spots, but dor the most part I was pleased with how this first effort turned out. I learned alot as I went along and now have some ideas where to improve on my next try.

Anyway, I couldn't wait to start painting, so here is where we are so far. I'd call this about 80% done. The hair is base coated, the shirt and jeans need some more highs and the bullet belt needs all the links painted on.

Hope to have the painting done this weekend... then the base

Let me know what you all think

Very nice! The overall pose is excellent. Also love the guitar and how you did his hair. Cool work.

For a first effort this is great. For an 80th effort it would also be great. You cracked it I think. I bet you can't wait to do your next one. Sculpting and painting your own work is like an addiction and the feeling of freedom and control is really the best part as you are no longer dependent on manufacturer decisions for subject, pose or scale.

    Enjoy Colin

Looking forward to see it painted!

Thanx everyone... a couple of small tantrums and some salty language aside, this was alot of fun! Colin's right, I'm aleady bursting with ridiculous, over the top ideas... about 40 years of sculpting ideas:wtf:.
The strings are an actual high E string from my pile of guitar string cast offs.

    Thanx again

Motorhead is one of my favorite bands and Lemmy is a great character... and one of the biggest influences in my own bass playing style. They are one of the loudest bands in the world... but if you want FAST my vote goes to Slayer :sneaky:

    Thanx again

Brilliant Colin. I've seen a few attempts to sculpt well known performers over the years and almost without exception they've fallen well short...........
This however is a triumph......instantly recognisable......because it LOOKS like Lemmy
    Very well done ....congratulations

If they aren't the fastest now... they certainly were at one time. Nobody was as fast , loud or raw as Motorhead in the late 70s early 80s. They helped pave the way for the next generation of Metalheads that became the Thrash Metal scene.

    :joyful: Colin

Steve, Carl, Fex, Derek and Mike... Thaks so much for your fantastic support. I've been dragging my feet starting this project, but once I got stuck in, I've enjoyed this new aspect of the hobby.
As for it looking like Lemmy, I can thank Moz because the head came from his 75mm set. I tested a couple of the other heads from the set before I settled on this one and as soon as the whiskers went on, they all would have made good "Lemmys". Perhaps Moz had Mr Kilmister in mind when he was sculpting;)

I'm just glad he turned out or this may have been the end of my sculpting adventure.
