Here is the final post for this latest project of mine,i did'nt reply to the last 5x posts i had regarding this figure as i completly forgot so i must apologise for not awnsering the very kind coments i recieved from :
    Sam b
    Keith (Tecumsea)
    Steven (Helm)
    Andrew Craft
    Christosjager

Many thanks guys for your kind coments and support.

Although i was asked in the original post if i would do something different in design to the tricolour i decided to just stick with the tricolour in the end,the flag being created from plastic rod and pewter sheet,my original idea was to always give the bust a sort of frame for final display and i hope i have achieved that.
This was a bust i thourghly enjoyed painting and i'm even thinking of getting anorther one and doing something else completly different from the revolution period.

The flag was primed in Halfords grey primer and left 24hrs to dry before i sprayed it with GW chaos black, once the black had dried i applied masking tape to get straight edges between the 3x colours, for the blue i used the Andrea Blue Paint Set and the red was also Andrea Red Paint Set,the white was Humbrol acrylic off/white from their railway range.
Final painting of the 3x colours was achieved using WN oil paints.
The weathering and damage to the flag was created using Black and Umber pastel chalks, these were applied ONLY when the oils had dried.

Again i would like to thank everbody for their previous kind and supportive coments from the previous post a couple of weeks ago,i thourgly recomend this bust to anyone interested in the napoleonic era its a great piece with lots of potential (y).

For anyone interested its available from Mr Steve Kirtley @ www.skminiatures.co.uk

All coments and critisism welcome, happy painting (y):) tambour final 004.JPG tambour final 006.JPG tambour final 007.JPG tambour final 008.JPG tambour final 010.JPG tambour final 011.JPG tambour final 013.JPG tambour final 014.JPG tambour final 016.JPG tambour final 017.JPG

    Hi Brian,

WOW !!!! This is a great rendition of the bust , he looks dirty and so right for the period of the Terror , the addition of the flag and the drum is a brilliant idea and seems to frame the bust as well as adding more interest to an already great bust, its well done with great weathering .

    Thanks for posting this piece.
