    Hey All

    OK here goes...
Other than filling seams or touch ups on figs, my sculpting experience is nil. This is my first attempt at sculpting. It took half a dozen attemps before I was remotely happy with the armature. To this point, I have the frame, fleshed out chest and pelvis and feet. The head is a Moz 75mm from the generic head set to which I've added whiskers and roughed in the hairline which will be built up to fairly long hair. Once set the chest has to be shaped down and the feet will be shaped to boots.

The bass is only a rough shape to aid in posing. The actual bass is made from lamenated polystyrene sheets.

If anyone can see any issues before I move on to the next step, I'd be much obliged :notworthy:

I'm not a sculpter Colin so I'll leave any critique and advice to those that know what they are talking about but I instantly knew who it was before scrolling down to the photo of Lemmy you posted so that must mean something. (y)
Great choice of subject and I'm looking forward to seeing further progress, good luck.

Thanx Roger, I appreciate the vote of confidence.... something I sorely lack in this venture ;) I think the hair scares me the most:nailbiting:

When it comes to making Lemmy's belt removing the heads from a 75mm 7.62 belt will be fun. ;)

Looking good. I think the neck if the guitar looks to be a bit large. Musicaly inclined folks will be more likely to confirm.

Looks great to me...don't putty the knees and elbows until you fill in the armature. That we you can adjust the pose if needed once you flesh him out a bit.

Thanx Mike... Your right about the bass, it's just a rough outline to help with the posing of the figure. The one I'm using for the final model is a lot leaner and was modeled after the Rickenbacher 4001

    Thanks Colin
I am trying to follow the steps from Horan's Masterclass book  I'll be trying the arm/leg sausages this afternoon. Once the pose is fine tuned then I'll lock it in. Then start from the boot up... the boots worry me :nailbiting:

Nap, T-34/35, Steve, Martin and Roger I appreciate the supportive comments... This whole project had me rattled, but just getting that little bit started got me off the ledge

    Hi Colin,
Very promising start keep plugging away mate. I'm no sculptor and someone might chip in, but the torso on the right looks like it has to much volume and makes the right shoulder look twice the length of left shoulder! Better to correct early, I had to completely rework a figure after some great advice.
I hope you're not blasting out "The Ace Of Spades" on full volume to the neighbours whilst doing this!
    cheers

You're absolutely right Richie... Just finished carving some of the volume off the chest and pelvis... Lemmy was no bodybuilder! After fleshing between the chest and pelvis (filling in the negative space) things are looking a little more balanced.

And yes, "Ace of Spades" is on constant loop at "11"... Inspirational!!!! It's Ok, between the music and my bike... my neighbours already hate me :D

Thanx Greg... how's the knee? Is the post op morphine wearing off yet?
The Rickie is proving to be a pain. BTW do you have any 75mm ammo belts in your bits box or at the shop?
