Oh one tiny point when I did this figure I found it easier to mount the arm to the shield then to the body,it's personal preference but that's what worked for me

    Hi Helm ,

Thanks for suggesting this idea , I can see where you are coming from on this ..and of course put the handle throuh the hand before the arm is put to the shield

    Any pictures of your version?

Thanks for taking the time and effort to complete this review Kev and also for the useful research material. Pete very kindly supplied some painting guidelines which were not included in the original kits but are now ( apologies Steve). I have included these below for others who bought the figure and have not started it yet. The spear shaft is made from carbon fibre.

    Trousers - Any muted colour.
Tunic - Old or dark leather.
Belt – Brown leather gold ornaments.
Gauntlets - Black leather with bronze strips.
Cloak – Any colour or checked.
Helmet – Polished iron. Central ridge and ornamentation is brass or dark gold. Grey wolftail.
Spear - Iron tip, wooden shaft.
Sword – Brown leather scabbard, brass hilt, wooden handle with a piece of bone on grip. Iron pommel with gold strips.
Shield – Leather over wooden boards, dark silver strips to make star, iron rim.
Chainmail – Polished iron. Sleeves and hem have a row of gold coloured rings

Great review Kev on what is my favourite period. Only wish this was a 54mm or a 75mm as for me 120's take up too much room. The bit about the Coppergate helmet was a nice touch. Dragged around Waitrose is hell eh? You should try Aldi, its worse.
