Hello everyone ,i have made a little bit more progress on this chasseur.
I built the collar ,to me one of the most important items in this conversion since the figure's original head had the collar .
So i spent a great deal of time working on it and i am really really happy with the shape,
also added some Magic sculpt on the left side of the coat and lower part of the lapel of the coat.
I also added the lower part of the vest using magic sculpt.
Basecoated the figure with the following colors:

Hat : Vallejo German grey and dab of medium flesh
Plume: Vallejo deep yellow and a dab of Vallejo game color litchen purple
Head : VallejoBurnt umber and a tiny bit of deep yellow
Vest and pants : Vallejo deck tan
coat : Citadel Foundation "Fenris Grey" , it is actually an almost dead on color identical to the Osprey illustration.
Lapels: Same as the coat but added a tiny bit of flat blue,i always like to have a slight difference between garments,and some of the lapels are not the same material as the coat.
collar: Vallejo deep yellow and a dab of flat brown
I could tell you i am looking at this figure on my workbench and i am itchy to keep painting,but i want to take my time and doo a better job.

Hi Daniel, I've just gone through your previous posts on this figure and am really looking forward to updates.
You're right not to rush at the painting, the amount of white directly against the blue will give some real challenges in tone and shading.
The end result, conversion and painting should result in a unique and impressive figure.

Hi Daniel, good start. Don´t trust too much on the blue of this plate,(the scanner gave pale tones, sorry), it must be darker. The correct tone is the same as the Royal Livery of the drummers, or artillery units.

Eduardo,thanks for comenting on this fig as your imput is very important to me.
I have never trusted the Osprey or any other illustration cause i learned the hard way that when you are looking for colors you will have a different "tone" if you have a book with illustrations or you browse from site to site in internet.
In fact,i could tell you that one of the illustrations showing the facings in crimson in the Osprey looks more like Bordeaux than crimson.
So,all being said,i just found what it looks to me a midtone closer to what Osprey's showing and the real reason i want to go with this color is since this unit was based in an Island (Haiti) that blue uniform will get weathered very rapidly and depends on the hue and material of the coat it will fade to a greyish tone or towards a violet color.
Another thing that you have to keep in mind is that the description of the french units overseas that wore 'dark blue coats' is not the same as the drummers, which describes as Royal Blue , and i believe to be a complete different hue of blue.
Please correct me if i am wrong.
