Excellent sculpting and superior painting. Too bad this will be only a (very) limited production piece.

Just a question: did this figure can be painted like camel guards regiment?
Its a coldstream regiment I think.

If I have understood well, there will be a special edition of this piece (50 pieces) and a normal edition.

As I understand the posting, the limited edition are the 50 in resin with the normal edition (metal) to follow.

Has anyone had trouble with the Latorre website? I attempted to purchase this beautiful figure, but got nothing but "error" messages--both re: actual payment via PayPal and emails to the site. Maybe someone from the website/store will read this post and clarify what happened?

I think this leads to a more general comment on the frustrating inconsistency displayed by figure sellers, particularly with regards to customer service. Many are excellent retailers; however, there are a few (and living in the U.S., I mean European sellers) who have no conception or apparent concern for operating a successful business model. I can't help but think that is just one more reason ( along with the economy and increasing costs/prices as well as time constraints) that the hobby remains somewhat static (at least that is the general impression I have gotten from reading other members' posts over the years).

I hope that Latorre's glitch is just that and that my "purchase in limbo" can be resolved. The great thing about this forum is that I can, at least, communicate to someone the problem, which I have not been able to do with the seller.

Kudos to Latorre--they did have problem with their server. So, I have to place them in the category of "excellent" retailers. My general comment, though, still stands.

First of all thank you for the great reception.

Certainly this based on this great figure (Thanks Mike, for your good job, as you can see continues to inspire many people), always when we were talking about it, when the regiment went out in conversations.

There are other figures that we hope will soon see the light, and not just classical figures versioned, but also illustrations that made us excited when we went to competitions, oh ... long ago!!!.

About the problem they are discussing the paypal error, the problem is our system that we have tried to repair but still have not found.
Pay Pal is working properly but this website says no, but it is not true, we have to send a message to each of our clients manually, saying it works.
So then, when it issues an error, ignore, it works, if you want verification, please write and we will respond by asking, thanks. apologies for the inconvenience

We have only 15 figures left, if you are still interested.

Finally thank you all, for your comments. We are trying our best. to solve all problems.

    Thanks

I think this figure is fantastic, a combination of Mr Latorre, and Mr Ortiz. I ordered one straight away, there was an issue with the payment, but this was resolved immediately with great comms from the Latorre website. looking forward to receiving it.

    Received mine today. Number 08/50.

He's actually a bit over 60mm tall from his toes to the top of his head, so a "generous" 54mm.

I encountered the same PayPal issues outlined above but it was all resolved quickly and with no hassle.

LaTorre have advised us that this limited edition will soon be released as a metal version. We will be stocking the range from LaTorre and Toison Studio in the coming weeks and hope to have them in before Euro.

    Thanks for looking.

I have mine right now, the sculpt of this figure is very good but I have to remove mold lines kinda nasty in legs, boots and arms, I don't know is just only my copy but those mold lines will give me lot of job to remove and fix it. Beatiful figure anyway..

I got my copy this past Friday. With much anticipation I might add. The sculpt is world class, as to be expected by one of the best sculptors out there and the handling of the folds are masterful.

Unfortunately like Ernesto my casting suffered from the same type of casting flaws. If it was only seam lines it would not be an issue, but the mold shift that is present on my example is inexcusable. There are areas where over a one mm mold shift exists and those are hard to fix without resculpting the affected area.

In short, very impressed by the sculpt, very dissapointed with the casting, so much so that I will probably never bother to paint it out of disgust of the poor cast. Nothing like spending $50 on a figure for it to be the casting quality of a sloppy recast. Hope the metal version is better.
