Painted with acrylics, experience with the sets of Andrea (Black and Flesh). Feel free to comment.

Looks very nice. The shading on the skin and the pants/hood is great. Makes me want to check out those paint sets. What did you think of them? Were they easy to work with?

Out of curiosity, will you be adding blood splatter to the axe? I saw a neat demo where the guy took a blob of paint on his brush, held it near the weapon, and then blew on the brush like blowing out a candle in order to create a nice random splatter effect. Just make sure you cover up the rest of the figure to protect it from any wayward paint.

Very nicely done. Lovely fleshtones and a lot of realism.

    excellent work indeed.

Bailey; the Andrea sets are nice but you do need to add a couple more colors to them, especially the flesh set. The flesh set will require the addition of a blue to cool it down some, it is a very "hot" set of colors.

The set of Black went straight from the bottle :) .
The set of Flesh, had to join to the transitions from the shadows Violet Red
For the transitions of light Ice Yellow + Red Sunset.
    Hope that helps

  10. Wow excellent work Alvaro, it's nice to see someone showing top notch results using acrylics, rather than taking the easy route of using oils. :)

That is excellent and gruesome at the same time, love the flesh tones and that blood/gore is too realistic for words. I only have one criticisim if I may,and that is with his chest hair, it looks a bit harsh or thick, I have used a coloured pencil before to get finer body hair, building it up slowly and darker towards the center. Only a small remark on what is a very well done figure

    Hi Paul
I've painted this figure in oils some time ago and it was anything but easy.

I can honestly say that you managed to get the blood splatter effect on both the axe and execution block just right . Good Job !
    Cheers !

The face only a mother could love. This figure is strange enough to make a cool diorama. Great job!
