This is my latest work. It is the 1/16th scale Marine from S&T. Now let me just say I suspect that this was a recast. I bought this figure off of e-bay about 3 years ago so I really did not know how to discern recasts from originals by listings at that time and I did not pay attention to the fine print. When I received the figure it had the usual picture of the figure on the box but it was of poor quality. The box was also not a white box so already the red flags went up. As I opened it up the color of the resin was spot on, however it was very glossy in texture and was pretty much horrible all the way around. This is the first figure that actually took me longer to prep then to paint so you can imagine how terrible it was. I contacted the seller way back when but after about 4 e-mails of denial I just gave up and shelved the figure. Anyway I got the urge to torture myself and get this guy done as his pose was always one of my favorites from S&T. Enough rambling, he as usual is painted in Vallejo acrylics with Citadel paints for the metallics.

    Excellent work Dan, as always.

Exactly same here, I bought this figure at e-bay about the same time when I didn't know how to discern recasts from original like you. I admit I bought some figures I suspect recasts around that time.

Anyway, you've done a great job on this bad conditioned figure.

Very honest of you to admit to the recast - many wouldn't. Nice also that you tried to resolve the issue adn comment on the porr quality. In any case, I think you have done an astounding job on painting him. That's a tough camo patternto pull off effectively.

Hi Colin, I'm afraid I really can't accept the kudos for admitting it is a recast only for the fact that I got duped on this one and did not knowingly buy a recast as I think it is extremely unethical. However I did not want to see it go totally to waste so I gave it a go as best I could. Thank you for your comment as it is appreciated.:)

What's up Vaux. I used U.S. dark green from the Vallejo range for the jacket.
