Thanks a lot for your comments, Ken, Steven, les, Carl B, Roy (hoping you could get yours), Stephen!

Face 99% finished. I don't know why but it looks better and close to the actual color on iPhone camera. (I need to learn SRL camera more...)

Thanks sam! Yes it is hard for its size. This is my first try on 1/6 (300mm) scale, so very challenging.
Now I'm working on preparing body before applying primer. stay tuned...

That expression really comes alive Kaz, looks great. No worries about the camera, it's another art form in and of itself! I'd like to consider one of these beasts because I do love the Large Scale figs, but I'd never get it past the gate guard at that price. Oh well, 200mm is still in range. Love the SBS Kaz.

    Cheers, Ski.:D

Thanks Jimmy, Les, and Steven for your comments!

Steven, I'm a large scale fan too. I love 120mm-200mm, but after I saw this big guy, even 200mm figs look smaller now. :)

And...now I'm searching for 29th infantry division uniform images and a little bit confusing on uniform color.
There are two type colors on trounsers, 'brown-like' and 'green-like'. I don't know which one is correct for 1944 d-day infantry division. If someone have good resource, please post it here.

Great paint so far... The face looks damn real.
As for the size:eek: That's HUGE!!! But what's next, a full 1:1 like a retail mannequin with a uniform sculpted on? Throw out the 00 brushes and pick up some 2" and 4" sash brushes and a roller for base colour:ROFLMAO:

Look forward to the progress on this project

That looks really good Kaz! The figure has lots of options for the groundwork, what do you plan? Running by a 'hedgehog' in water would be cool :) John's figures are great, looking forward to see the progress.

    Thanks!

I agree with Denes, really looking forward to seeing how you will work in the ground work Kaz. This should be sweet.

    Cheers, Ski.

P.S. It's seeing projects like this that make me pray for an early snow fall so I can get back in the bunker and break out the brushes, ugggggggg!

    Thanks Denes and Steven,

Yes, that's the first thing came to my mind too. Problem is the size. hedgehog will be over 60cm in height maybe?? If I use it try not make it steal the show from the GI.

I haven't decided the groundwork plan yet, but I think the ground will be sand.

Kaz, the so typical D-day hedgehogs were max. 1.4 meters (=23cm in scale), as stated here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Czech_hedgehog, while still big, a section would look really good. Anyways, a beach scene might be a cliche, still, the figure offers himself for that, but of course it's up to you ;)

It will look great in any way, looking forward to see it!

When it comes to sculpting faces I think John Rosengrant is the best out there.
Really impressed with the face painting on this guy
    Well done
