    Hey All,

Latest session on the Chasseur... Gold braiding, DONE! Finally:whistle: Pelisse red, dolman green, pelisse fur trim and buff breeches, DONE! Face and colpack, DONE!

I usually leave the boots till last, the waist belt is done but will need to be touched up after the sword/sabretache straps are attached. The sabretache itself has got its' green main colour blocked in...the coat of arms will be a headache for sure.

For all intents, the rider is ready for the main pieces to be assembled... to be continued...

    Cheers

    Colin

What a great job my friend.
At the beginning i was going to suggest more lights or shadows on the colpack but then i saw another pic of it and it looks great, just the right instensity of light and shadows, perfect in my humble opinion.
The gold braid came up great , i admire your patience .
    Keep us posted! (y)

Thanks for the encouragement Daniel. Once the gold work was done, it rolled along rather nicely. I dread the sabretache, but if it turns out it will be worth it.
When I finish my smoke break... I'll start cutting foil for straps... Oh joy!

Cool, sometimes we rush to finish figs but you can tell the difference when you take your time and work on the smallest details.

Nice job Colin....I have this in my grey army but haven't dusted him off yet. I keep seeing Ray Lamb's legendary Historex conversion in my mind's eye. I think this piece is going to look great when he's all mounted up.

    Thanx Colin,
I will be bringing this piece with the horse on Sunday. Hopefully one of the oil painters there will give some advise re the dapple grey horse. I've never used oils so I'll need some direction.

I'm almost finished the sabretache as we speak... just having a smoke while the burnt umber wash dries on the edging. Then it's just gold and some touches on the green base and voila... one chasseur officer's embroidered sabretache and two severely crossed and watering eyes
