Marc, the groundwork is just to cover his base, remeber that this figure wil be glued to the 12x12 base with the rest of the regiment.
    thanks for your imput.

I posted a comment here this morning and now it's gone, it was a compliment so can't have been deleted :D the ship must have rolled the wrong way.
Anyway nice work and as the others have said the skintones and the royal livery have come out well.
How many completed Soissonois is that now Daniel?

Hey Roger , always an honor having you on my threads .
Don't know why your comment would be deleted,i don't think there is a function to delete post.
Anyhow, i have 4 figures of the Soissonois completed, including the drummer , and i have another 5 of the same regiment already basecoated :)

I don't think it was deleted, it probably had something to do with the satellite signal, the weather isn't too good out here at the moment... well it is summer in the North Sea :ROFLMAO:

This will be a great display when they are all completed and based up together, have you reached a decision yet as to the final composition?

That is the one million dollar question Roger.
Some days i feel like it is too big of a project some days i want to go ahead with it.
As for today i think i will make every base 12x 12 display individualy with at least 2 regiments paired together (that was the case at yorktown) and portray little scenarios or passages of the early gathering of the French units at Yorktown ,that is today, maybe not the case tomorrow lol

I know that feeling very well with some of the large groups of flats I have. What starts as a really good idea doesn't seem so good after three or four figures painted and about twenty to go.

That is right, but i will continue with the project wether it will individual bases or all four bases togehter.
Thanks for passing by my friend and be careful at sea sailor.

I just took few pics of the base of this regiment , the ground work needs a lot of care but since is and old "try" i am reworking it.
With these pics you can more less have an idea of what i am intending to do.
the Grenadiers will be in the foreground , while flagbearer and field officer march with the regimental drummer in the background to take positions, followed by Saintonge fusiliers and grenadiers.
Behind the Soissonois grenadiers i will have the Saintonge officer that i am working on and a soissonois senior officer in a conversation with a "comissaire ordenateur" which will be on horseback,an old conversion from a prussian mounted officer :) DSC03335.JPG DSC03336.JPG DSC03337.JPG DSC03338.JPG DSC03339.JPG
