Here is a pic of my latest very WIP entitled "That One is a SPAD." It depicts an RFC private and a Royal Artillery gunner. The kit is from Ensign Miniatures and is from the late 80s early 90s I am guessing. The figures are metal:mad: and the sculpting is no where near today's standards, but I loved the composition, the subject matter and the price ($5 USD IIRC) when I bought it a vendor's table a couple of years ago. There is allot of touch up work to be done and no the skintones are not that light in person (but no nothing is shaded or highlighted). Critique more than welcome.

    Nice paint job so far...

The figures were sculpted by Major Bob Rowe (now sadly departed) back in the early 1980's. Ensign I believe is now no longer trading.

Thanks. It is a nice enough kit, but lke I said not up to today's standards. My biggest complaints would have to be that the RFC private has a gimpy leg which will involve some built up groundwork and neither figure has the appropriate insignias other than cap badges (and the gunner does have the lanyard).

Absolutely no arguing with that and if you enjoyed painting it that's what it's all about. It does have that old fashioned charm about it, I like it.

Roger, I am enjoying painting it, I just wish that more of the uniform detail was sculpted on. The faces are a little cartoonish, but that adds to the piece in my opinion. Thanks for having a look.

Whatever the sculpting quality, I love the story in these two figures!
