    Hi guys,

I've been very busy travelling and working over the past few weeks, but have finally made a start on my latest figure, a 54mm beauty from Andrea, Centurion Lucius Vorenus who was the lead character in the HBO mini series "Rome", played by actor Kevin McKidd.

I've sprayed the figure in black auto primer first and then applied a coat of Tamiya Fine White primer from above to accent the highlights. The effect is pretty cool and quite artistic and helps to define the shadow areas for painting.

As always I welcome any advice, comments, criticism and sugestions on the figure.

As for the historical accuracy of the mini series "Rome", I know there were elements of Hollywood in it and if that was a problem for you, I recommend you take your complaints to the producers. It was a historical drama series, not a documentary. I loved the mini series and I'm enjoying the figure. That's all there is to it.

I too have this figure so I will be following this. I really liked the series as well. The second season, while it had it's moments, was no where near as good as season one.

A great looking figure Tony. Think I missed this one as I haven't seen it before.
What are the yellow/gold spots on the figure - is it just some reflections on the photo or the preparation for some painting effect?
    Cheers Mat

I use the same technique on all my figures but i use a grey primer with a white halo effect spray.

Eduardo, David, Jim, Zeno, Carl, Mark, Mat, Brian & Ben- thanks guys.

Carl , yes Legionairy Titus Pullo is waiting in the wings.
Mark, the Rome mini series is relatively recent done by HBO Lots of blood, swearing and nakeditity.
Mat - the yellow bits appear to be a lighting effect as they certainly aren't on the figure.
Ben - no I don't have the book but the technique is one that many Planeteers have used and I just copied it.
