Found this little guy lurking under a pile of other figures at Sword and Lance,
turns out he was a prisoner of war in Carl Bartons grey army and had obviously seen some earlier action.
So a very modest ransom was agreed with Carl and he was bundled into the boot of my car along with all the loot that messers Mitchell and the Snad had amassed and hastened back to the  lands of the north where he was scrubbed up and repainted " the figure not Carl I hasten to add"
    So he is now a prisoner in Bonnie Scotland . View attachment 94249 IMG_5496.JPG IMG_5499.JPG IMG_5502.JPG IMG_5490.JPG IMG_5495.JPG

Nice work Ron, on the painting as well as the humanitarian releasing of a POW.
I'm also working on one of Mr. Barton's ex. prisoners. ;)

Great to see this given a new lease of life north of the border.;)
Hope you enjoyed the painting, as much as he did his liberation.

Ron , what a beautiful work on this guy.
I really like how you painted the face , the fleshtones are great and the blending between the lights and shadows are superb.
    Congrats on your "humanitarian" rescue.

A great sculptor who was taken from this world so early,he won the Best of Show at euro in 2007 i think, the piece was fantastic,a little japenese girl with tricycle following Hiroshima, how very sad we did not get to see more of his work,i think at some point i must have this piece in my collection, and we mus'nt forget dave maddox, another great sculptor and figure painter, you have a unique piece there ron, congratulations on a great job and well worth the £10.00 you paid carl (y).

    thanks for the comments Paulo.
It is mainly oils ie face the Jacket was undercoated with Citadel Balor Brown which is really a buff colour then Highlighted with Gold ocher oils and a little white, the shadows were raw umber and Gold ocher .
