Here he is...I tried to improve the highlights as suggested. Tried a new matte sealer but was shocked at the resulting shine, so will fix that. The shield was much tougher than I thought, but I'm getting the hang of it. Overall, I'm very happy and really enjoyed this one. Critiques always welcome and I hope you like him.

More highlights on the red would help. I would suggest using Testors dullcoat as it looks as if you used oils for the cape. When I painted with oils, dullcoat really helped cut the sheen. Its pretty good overall though I would add some washes to the metals to dull and darken them up some. WOuld help add some definiation to them. Nice work though

I have napa red, alizarin crimson and I mixed them, then added a bit of burnt umber; I just played until I got a color I liked. I let the diluted paint run and dabbed it with my finger to smear a little. Red is the toughest color for me by far, so I experiment a lot. Blood is tough to make it look realistic so I painted on a piece of white paper first.

Excellent Mary. I'm glad you chose to show some blood on his gladius. It looks very realistic.
