Okay, I found what you saw :) In "recent activity" it will show when someone "leaves a message" for another member, that's like a writing on a facebook wall.

"Personal Conversations" used to be called PM's won't show on the Recent Activity list. :)

Still cannot manage to add a thumbnail, replying to a thread no longer has the links to upload and images, true there is one from a pc link, but that does not seem to work on my iPad, also it does not appear to allow linking to photobucket etc, couldnt edit original pictures either on the first thread. Nd can you or I turn off the damn link that pops up every time I open a page that pops up saying there is an app... Once yes but not every page... Getting there though :D.

That's a trade off, Apple's safari on the iPad won't make use of the flash uploader (selecting mulitple files). The pop-up for the app you see is for TapaTalk, which is an app for viewing PF and uploading files. ;)

Yep know it is tapatalk, but is there anyway I can disable it? Most pop it up once and it's done, I keep getting it when swopping pages...

Know about flash and Safari, but on the old site I could add piccies easily from the menu bar, no longer have that facility.... Really hate firing up one of the pc's these days, iPads are a lazy mans PC :)

I used to get that on my iPad, on the previous site, now I get a pop up window with none of that on it, so cannot edit anything bar text, the fixed title that cannot be edited , can you still edit WIP part etc?

The other option is to use the text:

By the way, those alerts, with the trophies you can get, are very cool!!! See, I already like this!!!
Way to go, Gordy(y) . Now I want more trophies. :)

I think this is a great improvment!! At least, I was happy!!!(y)

Nice to be back, the new look looks....well, new....of course.

Some adjustments to be made, at heart though, it is still a digital clubhouse where we get together and swap ideas & information, drinking beverages of choice, from the comfort of where ever we happen to be!

I'll poke around later, and get used to the new format, liking it so fat

(and getting my 'hit' of figures back.....ahhhhhhh!!!!!)

    Cheers

I'm liking it more than I thought I would. Nice to see the new smilies in their proper context at last :cautious: :) :coffee:

Some of the features take a bit of getting used to (been using vBulletin for over a decade I realised recently!) but so far pretty much all the old familiars are there in some form, with a few nice extras on top (y)

Just tried to update and add images but it just asks for a code now  I allways upload from my pc to here, before there was a box that you could browse your pc images and upload them is this gone now ? as I found it alot easier this way rather than photobucket and codes etc...

As above.. Agree it is really awkward to upload images, other site I use I still have the bar facilities at the top on my iPad to edit stuff like text! add images etc. Sorry if I seem to be harping on about it, I do not intend to, I just see the ability to upload images simply as one of the fundamental core basics of the site considering what it is.

Also. Do not know if a fault Gordy, previously if you looked at the images and enlarged them, the image above or below would auto adjust to allow the image you are expanding to posted size to fit in between, now it partially expands over the other images, if that makes sense, so to see the full one under it you have to then expand that one over the top of the others.

A code ? Which forum? You should hit the upload button grab a bunch of photo's at once and then hit ok, then they will upload. The old system you had to select each picture individually.

This video might be a help, they use the same forum software:

Were you click on the image determins how the zoom goes, I'd have to see that in action on an iPad, I don't have one so it's hard for me to understand completely. :(

    Try this Gordy

two posts by me of images following each other in a thread

expanding the image up to its full size instead of as one would think it should do move the next post down a bit? it posts over the top of it.

Attempting to reply on an ipad2

you get this and this only, except the pop up to add images etc does not work, the font family / smilie / text format /image etc etc bar on top of the PC edit version is no longer there, and what is there does not work ie this little pop up window

Off another site showing what we used to have on here on the ipad2 and still have on a pc version, but for some reason it has now gone of the ipad since the , although the site used to have it.

Explanation here: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/ipads-and-xenforo.24863/ in short, the iPads' Safari doesn't allow upload/access from the iPad filesystem. :(

Another iPad user Alex de Leon uses Tapatalk from his iPad and it will upload images, just fine. Is there another browser app that the iPad can use?

I am not using those, i use http://www.icab.de/mobile.html you are missing what i am saying here, the third picture shows what i get after the site update, the previous site supported the thread editing suite on the top of the posting page as on the pc version and indeed is still supported on my ipad on other sites as per picture 4 for some reason it has dissapeared on this new site and what is there does not work, but the software on my ipad supports the original version, it as it always has.
