I've started the next project, "The Pacific" USMC 1944, sculpted by John Rosengrant.

This is tribute project to New World Miniatures & Chris, closed at 2011/12/31. I purchased it after heard about the news and received it few days ago. Thanks a LOT Chris & John for producing this wonderful figure.

I've just started painting today and still WIP, so please be patient I have a lot to paint until I finish it.

Any comments are welcome as always.

This looks great so far Kaz, face is especially nice but the uniform already looks good even before you're finished.

One thing on the helmet though, it looks like it's sitting very high to me - maybe 10-12cm off the crown of the head?

I don't have this figure, but I think it must be sculpted that way on the head because I've seen a couple of other examples of this piece on which it also looks to sit high.

The head and helmet are seperate parts. I just got done checking mine out, so lowering the hemet is not a problem and would enhance the presentaion. Nice start though!

Thanks Einion, sam, Steve, and oldtrousers!

Einion is right the helmet looks sit high, and also Steve is right too it sculpted that way, I didn't do any shaving and carving on the default condition of the head.

I haven't glued it yet I just put the helmet on the head, so I will shape the top of the head or dig the helmet deeper.

Wow, that's too good honor for me. Thank you very much!

Thanks a lot. I've been watching "The Pacific" again these days as a reference.
BTW, I'm an Okinawan so the movie "The Pacific" is a little bit special for me. The pacific guy is painting "The Pacific".

Anyway, today's WIP. Only a small progress on face today.
