Here's my latest one (Last one in this year), my son's TAMIYA RC Car "Grasshopper" driver. I painted it for my son, and just for fun.

Hi Kaz, very nicely done, my sons had these rc cars also many years ago so my advice would be to add extra seat harnesses for the poor guy.. lol cheers Les

arxo, good point! The Book's title is "Color Mixing Recipes FOR PORTRAITS" by William F. Powell. This is a great book for painting portraits, to check color combinations for skins, eyes, lips, and hair.

excellent sir. Always good to paint a fun piece with no pressure.

Great looking work on what would arguably be a "why bother?" type of subject.
Neat idea on using the book for paint mixes because that is exactly what I was going to ask Kaz what colours did you choose for the flesh on this guy?

I used Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Naples Yellow Hue, Brown Madder, Skintone base, and Hookers Green.

In that book there's several recipes, such as caucasian, eurasian, asian, east indian, latino, native american...something like that. I'm referring to that book when I paint but not exactly the same recipes. I use it as a sample or guide.

I remember building my R/C Grasshopper when I was a kid. What a great way to add to your sons fun and also a great way to be a great dad.

Also what nice flesh tones you have done. Did you dullcote it a couple of times to protect it?
