Haven't posted on pF in forever, but thought I'd start again with this piece, 54mm one-off inspired by Danny Lyon's amazing book Bikeriders. It's a photo book mixed with stories of members of the Chicago Outlaws motorcycle club in the early and mid-sixties, of which Lyon, a photographer, was a member. I put a couple photos on here to show where the inspiration for this piece came from as well.

He'll be leaning up against the wall, resting on his right shoulder, and holding a banged up Pickelhaube helmet in his left; the smug look, black eye, and cuts on his face are to help tie in to why he has the helmet in his hand in the first place. It's a work in progress, lots of carving and fixing the damn shoulders is left ;). It's sculpted in Aves and the face is painted with Vallejos and Reapers.

    Cheers guys, Stephen

Oh yes, "Live to ride, ride to live". Very good start, the face is perfect. I like the rocker hayrstyle of the bikers from this period. Are you going to put patches on the jacket? I look forward.

Thanks a lot for all the comments guys, much appreciated.

Eduardo, yes, there will be patches on the jacket. The Chicago Outlaws patch on the back like the one in the photo of the guy at the diner, as well as some others on the front to add some color.

Some progress on this piece. The bulk of the sculpting is done now. Using a spare head, and old section of wall from a Warriors kit in my stash, and some Blue-Tak, I mocked up the basic pose of the vignette. The Pickelhaube came from my buddy Jason Whitman--thanks bro! Sculpting will be done this weekend and then it's on to the fun stuff and getting this one painted up.
    Cheers, Stephen

Thanks a lot Dan, I see a few things that need to be cleaned up, but other than that it's painting time this weekend for sure. Appreciate the kind words my friend.
