Finally finished my first and last Pegaso bust.

I'm sorry fellas but I liked the real feathers, the Pegaso ones were so disfigured I binned them anyway.
I tried to make him look sweaty and dirty and tried to tie in the skin tone with the bronze to make it more pleasing to the eye.
I seen the black marble base in a local trophy shop and managed to get the guy down from 10 quid to a fiver, as long as he took the female darts player off the top of it.
Let me know what you think....

You get a 10/10 from me mate for the bronze and flesh tones, they look superb and very lifelike. Through all that work and frustration you have produced an excellent bust to show for it.

    lovely work mate,

Mmmmmmmm! Very nice, have you used oils for the flesh? Very realistic, as for the metals superb. Your best work to date Grant.
    Love it,
    Carl.

Fantastic work. I like the way you have duplicated the look of sweat on the flesh.

Absolutely stellar---the skin tones and metallics are excellent, the real feathers adds a nice touch also.

    Thanks Carl,
Yes mate oils over acrylics for flesh.

You clearly didn't suffer the prep work for nothing, as the end result is absolutely stunning! It don't think it is possible to paint this nicer than you did. Top notch stuff Grant.

For my collection of bronze mixes.... how did you approach the bronze? Would love to know.

    Cheers,
    Adrian

Beautiful work Grant! Like the feathers, really nice touch. Skin tones are great and give the impression of being sun beaten. How did you get the "sweaty" look to the flesh, it is perfect. Did you add something to the oils?

    Thanks all for kind comments.
    Hi Scott,
I got the effect by just lots and lots of brushing off the oil base coat. It kind of "polished" the paint and made it look gloss in parts and satin in others depending on the amount of time brushing it.

I agree. The detail of the real feathers, that you used and we saw a few weeks ago, looks great. The cloth covering the neck is super real. All the final work looks superb.
