    Hi all,
I have just finished this Young Miniature's La Hire. A very nice bust that goes together brilliantly with minimal clean-up. I have really enjoyed painting him although the metallic paint got a little monotonous.
I took on board peoples comments and have added a little contrast to the beard and I think it makes a difference.

I hope you like him, please feel free to ask questions, add comments....whatever you want!

    Thanks for looking.

Hi Sam, beautiful work on the entire piece and high level on metal parts of the torso and head helmet.

I though the metal on the axe are very simple without realism try to do some more weathering, you can try if you want, grab coal powder on the axe and on the edge apply metal color after, wash with raw umber oil paint heavily thinned to cut the shinning on the metal and turn this part with an old look.

Congratulations one more great work Sam!!!:)

    Hello Sam!
I think it's what one happy faces I've seen in miniature!
Sure this bust is full of iron and as you say is a bit drab, though I like!
Really the colors you put on the armor?

    Hi Sam,
Very nice armour, the subtle shading is great, this must have been a labour of love. Lovely detail on the axe handle, one of the most realistic pieces of wood I have seen painted.
I do agree with Pedro about the axe head.
    cheers
