This is the general "setup" for the "naked-head" version. Helmet will be put into his right hand.
What to do with the right hand on the "helmeted-head" version ?
    Have no idea yet...

    hello darko
have you considered to place the helmet upright in his arm meaning the hand would hold its side. so that the helmet is hold in an position that its with the opening at his belt?i think it would be looking more compactly this way.
the hand holding the helmet might support the flank
the other might be resting on the swords pommel
so it would look very casual and relaxed
    good work so far
    like it an lot cheers

you might check yourself on the mirror holding an steelhelmet or crashhelmet for the look of the hand supporting it or an chap makes an pic of you holding one then one get an sense.the hand could support with the tumph the lower rim of helmet and fingers are aligned in an relaxed stance

I was planing position in which the hand holding the helmet actually also "rests" on the helmet cause helmet is partially hold below the upper arm -you know like football player holding the ball.
Right arm is planed as You said: to rest on the sword pommel.
However if this will not look right I might try the trick with the arm resting on the flank.
Parts are not baked together-they are already made with keys for later casting, so replacing wrong arm is not hard to do ;)

    oh yes
i think if you want portriat the bust with helmet on head the arm designed to hold it could look odd
maybe you make foor this option an other arm
or you could make an hand and give this an lance
because surely he would have been equipped with an wide balded lance as well.
    cheers

    A lance !
    Here is my answer ;)
Will require to do complete new right hand for that version (because helmet is pushing some drapery on the sleeves, so current hand will not work), but this is good idea ;)

Bracelet will be hardly seen, cause it has long sleeves, and around sleeves will be same wire design as around the neck.
Ring on the finger maybe ???

    hello
yes ring could look good often they did wear old roman rings in bronce or gold with an cloisonne or gem
but in that scale n ringband with an round blob as stone would do the trick
    cheers

I'm as surprised as You are :)
Thx for the help and tips !

Hand is still very rough, but I think it shows that the "setup" will work:

i could think that the joint between hand and arm will be need some fiddling around untill it will suit.always tricks to align different parts on an figure to create an natural casual look.

The left one is finished too, but completely unproportional.
Measurements for both hands were the same, but somehow I succeeded to add to much material on the left one and it turned too big.
Hehe, one more lesion I learned, bot hands should be sculpted together and put side by side for comparation-also checked frequently if proportions are still correct.
