Here is my latest painting excercise. I've always had some trouble with od type colors so this was a good painting exercise for me. This is from S&T and it's a 1/16 scale depiction of US Marines in the savage fighting at the Chosin Reservoir in Korea 1950 circa. This was as usual done in all Vallejo scrylics as usual.

Well, this is one I am...er...was working on. Now I will quietly slide it into the back of the pile, so as not to be constantly disappointed in my effort while comparing it to this one. Man thats some nice work. How people do this using acrylics escapes me.

If this is the sort of stuff you produce when you're "having trouble" and feel you need more practice, then the figures that you produce when you consider yourself "good" must be incredible. Because this is stunning work.

Ever since Mr. Rosengrant decided to call time on S&T, I've been kicking myself for not picking this vignette up myself when it was readily available (I'd even held the kit in my hands at shows - what an idiot).

    Hi! Dan.
Your work is beautiful and is a gorgeous vignette.
The color of the uniform is very wonderful.
And a facial expression is very striking.
    A wonderful masterpiece.
    I congratulate completion.
I'm a fan of this kit, too.

I wasn't aware of these two among the S&T range. Pleasant surprise!

When they were available, you could buy the Marines individually, or the 2 figures and the base (with dead Chinese cast in) all together. Too bad S&T is no more, thats for sure.
