Been away from modelling for a bit as I recently started a new job. Seeing some of the excellent figures in Vbench has inspired me to pick up a brush again.

Leather painted and weathered. I wanted it to look really distressed.

Some pics of further weathering on the leather, dirt on his smock and the smoke grenade decals and paint applied.

Closer view of the face and weathered helmet which is base dark grey then different shades of white drybrushed. Then applications of fine sponge with dark grey on it for the worn/chipped paint effect.
I'm not happy with the colour and grain effect of the wood on the grenade and will repaint it I think.

Really nice job of the flesh tones Grant and also the leather effects, he definitely has a cold look to him.

I thought the grenade handle looked OK but each to his own :)

Great work Grant, the right eye looks like it's aiming in slightly towards the nose though.
    Good to have you back,
    Carl.

    Thanks Carl,
Yeah mate it shows that in the pics. The eye sockets are different sizes so I tried different things including about 6 repaints but it never looked right. If I did same size pupils it looked so unbalanced so I stuck with the eyes he has now. With the naked eye it looks like he has a thousand yard stare so It's probably the best I could get them.

Looks impressive. I like the leathers very much. Gives me an example how you can look them realistic.
Face is also a cold faced soldier.
thanks for sharing. I'm glad you picked up the brush again !!
