In the summer of 1942, the Spanish Volunteers Division (250 Inf. Div. Spanische) was designed to finish some soviet units isolated in an area of forests and swamps. Hot and wet weather and lot of mosquitoes added more difficulties to the mission. That is why the soldiers called it the "Green Hell" (Infierno Verde).
The figure is based on some pics of these operations.
It begun with a Hornet head and some Magic Sculpt and wire:

I just came across a diorama collection publication yesterday and was totally blown away from the amount of figures each author sculpted himself with nothing more than a Hornet head to start with.

And you are no doubt one of those all-rounded artists! Too bad your fellow is to finish off Soviets, whom I sort of root for...

    Thanks Michael!

The truth is that many people can sculpt a figure but can´t sculpt a decent head.
I have made some dozens of heads -it is something that I really like- but most of them are bigger scales than 1/35 -mostly 1/32-30 or 24- and Mr. Saunders can sculpt heads too!

About the history, well, it was that way! Cannot help about that.

    Thanks everyone for the comments!

Excellent, the wet mud on the boots is a great addition. I don't know how anyone can paint convincing splinter in this scale.

    Thanks, Carl.
I think a human being can't paint an exact splinter at that scale. Specially the "rain" effect.
Only thing to do is to try to sugest it.
