    Hello!

Carl ( HouseCarl Aka Tefal ) very generously passed me the Young Bust WSS MG42 Gunner Ardenne 1944 a few days ago...

He had started it and I had some paint left over from my middle session on the Blacksheep figure I'm doing....

So I attacked the face with the top end of my usual mix and used AV Medium Flesh to tie it down to Carls original paint.

I ended up over painting Carls origional eyes as I wanted a slightly more harried look to his face ...

I plan on painting up the face and helmet and then shelving this for a while, hence the semi WIP status

    ;)

Terrific face Mark, the worry lines on the forehead are excellent.

Pink in the lower eyeballs make it really lifelike. That gave a good effect to it and added emotions to the figure. Nice work.

Looks great for me. The expression layed in with the sculpting is coming out with your paintwork.
    Hope to see more soon.

    Very nice

Great start as usual marc. I don't envy the oakleaf camo. it takes forever on a 1/9th figure.

    Everyone! Many thanks :)

This is my first ever piece by Young Miniatures and I'm not disappointed in the slightest!

Beautiful if somewhat complex, I may eventually cut the body leaving just the top of the right arm and loosing the parts of the coat below the belt .... or not ;)

Decided on Plane Tree no. 5/6 as I had some lovely reference :) Cheers Stu! :)

I used Calvin Tans method basically ( from the Osprey Title " WSS Figures " ), I used my own slightly simpler colours ... the cover still needs a bit more work darkening the seams and such but not much more .... I will be adding some mud to the crown and possibly the lower edges .... ;)

well it looks very fine.its so easy to look at the pics of the printed pattern and so hard to do it in miniature.even if one using the onion technique and painting layer on layer.
this works out well.only the middle greens look an little bit to round some more jagged outlines maybe.
what is splendid is the garment look with the fine white lines.it looks awesome.this seems again to end in an high end bust which will grace the cabinets.unfrtunatly not mine:rolleyes:
