    I know I promised to swear off tartans and scottish subjects once I got back home, but then Alexandros Miniatures went and released this 75mm figure of Charles Edward Stuart, and I got drawn back into it all over again! It's quite a challenging figure to paint with lots of different details and textures to consider, but that only added to the fun. I finally got finished painting last night, and there are a few details on the ground work I'd like to add yet, but here he is for your critical consideration all the same.

    Hello Glen get some sleep.
    You must be painting 24:7. Very nicely done, you're becoming quite the tartan specialist, you must be mad.
    You would have loved this years Euro, usual suspects wre there.
    Davey, myself, some of the English lads and Stefan our German mate ended up in a pub that was celebrating talk like a pirate day. Everyone in the place was dresssed in keeoing with the theme...especially the barmaids... happy days

    That's quite a lot of plaid!

    Thanks Jay, sometimes when I really try, I come up with these little philosophical gems :D
    Thanks Derek, I have been thinking about Euro a lot this past month, and am having trouble dealing with the fact I wasn't able to attend. Sounds like you all had a good time, and from the pictures it looks like one of the best Euros in a long time. Well, maybe one day...
    Thanks Gordy, it is indeed a lot of plaid, but strangely enough I'm almost getting used to doing tartans, so nae bother.

    Hi Glenn, you make painting tartan look easy mate. The lines are straight and even, the colours are vibrant and the patterns appear symetrical. What an achievement. Obviously your time in Scotland has affected you profoundly (in a good way).

    Very nice

    My god that's good. Amazing tartan for 75mm. I'm also struck by his hair for some reason, very well done.

    Thanks Brian, glad you like it. Thanks also Tony; like I said, practice makes perfect, although I think I could use some more practice yet. I have Pegaso's 75mm medieval highlander on the workbench at the moment. I want to give the lad a shirt, as the bare chested look just doesn't look right to me, and having spent a winter in Scotland, I just can't imagine anyone wandering around that way for very long.

    Thanks Grant; I tried to get that powdered wig look. Frankly, I have just now had a peek at this post on my big computer (as opposed to the laptop) and think the pictures are rubbish! Especially where the whites, like the hair, are concerned. I guess I forgot to tone down the lighting. The figure looks much better in person.

    Well Glenn the bench mark you have set is way to high for me, a cracking job with this figure m8. It is quite a complex one to do (it's on my bench at the moment) but the fit is really good. That tartan is just superb as is the rest of the painting.
    As for your pegaso highlander , it does need and will look better with a shirt added, i did mine with some magicsculp.

    Thanks very much Marc, it's always a pleasure to hear from you. Thanks as well Barrie. I found the fit to be excellent as well. I think you'll find the tartan pattern molded into the kilt to be a great help in keeping everything lined up.

    Thanks Dan;
    Believe me I'd love to show it in person, but won't be able to make any shows this year. Hopefully I can make MMSI next year.
