    Hello!

Here is a figure from Andrea miniatures “Santa’s rest”.
It’s a little bit early for Santa Claus, but how about preparing for the Christmas from now.

This figure is based on Norman Rockwell painting.
I like the original painting and the the sculpture of this figure.
As some of you may know this figure is very very small so painting such a small figure is kind of a challenge.

I tried to paint bright and vivid red (how can I say, high chroma?), because I wanted to depict a funny and happy feeling of Santa and Christmas.

Any comments and critiques are welcome.
    Thank you for checking out.

Beautiful work. I have seen the size of this piece and you are right....small.

Just amazing work, this is a very tiny piece. I don't even know what scale the elves come out to be but they are super small. The flesh tones are great and the overall presentation is fantastic. Congrats on the beautiful painting.

Nice work Makoto. I like the subtle addition of the patterns, like on his slippers, the apron and the patch on his apron. Well done.

I'm a big fan of Norman Rockwell and I have this kit my own too (Still haven't started making it, though), I know this is REALLY TINY in size, and I say...your work is EXCELLENT!

I like the face of Santa.

    Amazing work, Makoto.
It's a very small figure, but you're painting very beautifully.
I liked facial tone and expression of a mustache in particular.
    Fairies are very cute.
    I congratulate completion.

Loved this kit when it was released and you have done an excellent job in bringing it to life. I would love to paint this but i know my painting would not do it justice so i will wait.

    これまた可愛らしい作品ですね。
    日本でもこういう作品にどんどん挑戦していく人が増えてくると
    もっと面白いのに、と思います。
    それと、日本のファンタジーフィギュアも作っていかないとね。

    This work is lovely.
More and more people will come and challenge such work in Japan
    I think more interesting.
And we should make it even fantasy figures from ancient Japan.

    Thanks for the kind comments!(y)

Guy, Mike, the height of these elves is about 1cm.
Yes, they are super small but I enjoyed painting them.

Jay, these patterns are drawn on the original Norman Rockwell painting,
So I tried to follow them. As you said, these patterns give the model additional something.

    Melanie, Thank you!

Kazufumi, you are a big fan? Me too!
Why don’t you make your Santa’s rest when you finished your aviator?
I want to see yours painted with acrylics.

Mitsutaka, I’m glad you like facial skin tone.
I tried to paint old man’s ruddy skin tone.

    Ngai Hang, Gordy, Thank you!
I didn’t know the expression “ a breath of fresh air”
This forum is also useful not only to improve figure painting but also my English skill.;)

Steve, I think the excellent sculpture of the model would help you to paint.
And if you have a magnifier, it would be a great help. (I used it.)

    Panzervati,
I think non-military subject like this figure can attract non-modeler’s attention.
I am expecting Andrea miniature’s “A wonderful world series” .
I hope many non-modeler will have an interest to figures and even more they start
    making models.

Thank you for the kind comments, Rob, John!

Rob, the figure you mentioned is "Gepetto's Dream" from Andrea miniatures.
I'm also intersted in the figure, yes it's a nice one.
