    Hi All

Cant believe that I have managed to finish another piece that I started last year. This is a 54mm figure by La Fortezza that I spotted on their web site last year. It’s a cracking little kit sculpted by Adriano Laruccia.

This is my attempt at it, all painted in acrylics which is a first for me which is probably why it has taken so long, correcting all the mistakes along the way. Just a few touch up here and there for compleation.

Started getting used to using them a little now, found the face particularly difficult, it’s a completely different ball game after oils.

Any comments or ways to improve would be much appreciated. The metals are painted in printer’s ink and acrylics.

    Cheers
    Tommi

Pretty good for your first go mate, I can see where your trying to push the acrylics around like you do oils, like the highlights on the shield colouring, Blue aint easy at the best of times......

But well done all the same

    Very nice job Tommi,
As an oil painter,I know how tough it is to try acrylic.
I use mixed media and mix it all up, & seems to work okay for me.
What I like here is I can still see your color approach & style
even though you are using a different medium. Well done mate!!

Many thank for your momments Steve. Will not be ditching the oils at all just nice to try something different for a change. I see a lot of talented painters here on the forum and the shows and it just inspires me to have a go at something different.

Might take your approch on the next figure using mixed mediums, will get done a lot faster, maybe try another pure acrylic again soon.

Looking foward to seeing Dave Maddox painting demo at Euro

    Cheers

Great painting, you can't tell this is your first attempt at acrylics. Brilliant ground work but I expect that from you. Just a really great piece of painting.

I think it's perfect in everything.
I liked the skin tone and beauty of the armor in particular.
The ground work is also very wonderful.
    I think an amazing masterpiece.
    I congratulate completion.
