But are you sure this is a samurai?? I don't think there are/were tigers in Japan? (ref the tiger pelt on the horse...)

Out of curiosity I did some searching on this and the samurai actually did have a thing with tigers! So forget about my comment; it just shows I know nothing of samurai!
