I picked this bust up at the recent open house at MMD Squadron at a ridiculously low price. As such I had to paint it! Haven't done a bust in a while so thought it would be a fun challange, especially with so much armor to paint. So here is my effort at trying to make it somewhat interesting. The armor have a lot of different colors in it such as reds, greens and blues. It is not very evident though! Next time I will try to do it more noticable.

Nice! I love the dirt. What material do you use for the mud look or do you just paint it?

    Thanks guys!

Mike, I used some Mr. Surfacer 500 that was stippled on to create a bit of a texture. This was then painted with Reaper paints with liberal amounts of Anti Shine Additive added to the mix to get the dusty, dirt like look to it. I was hoping to meet you this past weekend at the Tulsa show, but must have missed you somehow!

    Thanks again guys!

It just gets better and better to be a Young's fan, right?

Thanks for the tip, it looks so real. I was in a big hurry to get to a golf tourney so I was in and out in a flash. I saw you there but was a little shy to come up and introduce myself. Since that was my first show I was kinda nervous and wasn't sure what the proper etiquette was. I am just mad I couldn't stay cause there were so many people I wanted to talk to, you being one of them. I have the show bug now so hopefully we have a chance to bump into one another soon. Thanks again for the mud technique it will be used.

Stunning work, Anders. Thanks a lot for sharing this. I'm really impressed..wow.
skintone, eyes, armors...everything is great. I especially liked the touch of armors with different colors. I see you used a lot of colors.
What types of color materials do you use for metals? Acrylics or oil?
